We have a requirement for an experienced candidate for a Internal Sales Development role to join a leading stockholding group with a turnover exceeding £250M.
Our Client is a market leading metals stockholder and require a tenacious sales person to contribute to their expanding business.

Requirements- What we need from you

Skilled Negotiator-Successful candidates will have considerable experience within a commercial role.

Experience- Previous Experience may include but not limited to Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, FMCG or Utility Sectors. However, Previous Steel or Metal experience is desirable.

Building relationships with new and existing clients­- Your role will evolve around providing the best customer service possible to new and existing clients to help build long-lasting and effective working relationships.

Communication- It is imperative that the successful candidate has excellent communicational and analytical skills to ensure they perform the role effectively.

Ability to work under pressure­- You must be able to work under pressure to ensure tight timescales are met.


Our client has over one hundred and fifty years’ experience in the industry, which now encompasses 43 companies within their market leading group. This group saw their turnover increase by 14% during 2017 and are looking for this figure to increase. These figures once more reaffirming our clients as market leaders within the UK Steel industry.

Our Client needs someone who is Highly motivated, Skilled and a Personable individual; who is committed to hitting deadlines and thrives off working under pressure and KPI’s. The successful candidate will proactively work to build strong relationships quickly to ensure the retention of existing and expansion of new clients.

This role is suited to a candidate with metals experience and willing to add new skills/knowledge to their repertoire within a dedicated and forward-thinking environment to help grow and sustain the businesses bright future.

Full support will be provided by the company; however, no initial training will take place as the company seek an individual metals experience.

Examples of What You Will Be Doing Right Away

From the moment you start at the Company you will be hands on in the commercial side of the business. You will be working within a highly motivated sales team carrying out initial daily duties which include but not limited to:

Develop robust sales plans that seek to secure profitable new market share and gross margin growth.

Ensure sales plans reflect the need to minimise stock levels, work in progress and customer debtor days.

Develop & be an ambassador for high customer service standards that seek to build customer retention levels.

Lead negotiations with potential customers and through regular meetings, build relationships to maximise commercial opportunities with them.

Monitor sales performance against plan in order to maximise profit potential.
Benefits/ Details

Salary of between 25k – 30k per annum (dependent on experience)

Working hours 9:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday

Company Pension

21 days holiday plus bank holidays

Bonus potential up to 15% OTE Monthly
